Here's alittle update on what's been happening with us since we left FL....in case anyone's wondering or interested..............
Thursday: The kids, Ranger and I made it to my parents on Thursday night, about midnight to be exact, only after almost 12 hours of traveling!! The first half of the drive went really well just minus the fact it was pouring down rain all the way to Baton Rouge (which is halfway for us to my parents). Then after that everything seemed to go downhill......couldn't get the dvd player to work, my cell phone died and i had to stop and buy a car charger for it.....only when I asked for directions they sent me to ten-buck-two to a Verizon Wireless store, Jayde was having bladder issues since she drank Gatorade that morning would freak out all of a sudden in the middle of nowhere that she was about to pee her pants, Gabe spitting up all over me, and got stuck in some late night LA construction traffic. That's about all I can recall right now of that 'lovely' drive to TX. The good thing is that we made it alive and well and all in one piece!
Friday: Courtney on the other hand, did not get done with signing out of our house and the base until late Thursdsay afternoon so he decided it was best to crash at a friends house and start fresh on Friday morning instead of driving all night. He made it here safe and sound around noon. My sister and her 3 girls came up and swam in my parents pool....aka.....horse trough!! I kid you not! Its a hard plastic blue horse/cow trough but its perfect for the kids to swim in. I have pictures of the 'redneck swimming pool' (which is what I call it) that I will post as soon as I can get them off my camera.
Saturday: I got up and picked peas that were ready in my parents garden for them. I was dripping sweat at 8:30 in the morning from 45 mins of picking peas!!! Gotta love (or hate?!) this TX heat!!! My parents went on a trail ride with some friends while we hung out at their house. We rode down to the river where they were stopping for lunch and ate some good ole southern food.....fried fish, fries, and fried squash! We even got to see & catch up with some old friends we hadn't seen in years so that was nice. Later that evening we went to Aunt Jackies house, had pizza for some dinner and then went to Lake Tejas by their house to watch the fireworks their town was putting on at the end of a Family Fun Day. It was nice to hang out and watch the show. Then we got to go back and eat some good ole juicy watermelon!
Sunday: Today we got to go to church, be uplifted, and then come home and take a big fat nap! This afternoon a big nasty thunderstorm came through and knocked the electricity out for about 2 hours. So we sat on the porch for a little while (till the rain started coming through the screened in porch) chatting and shelling peas. Then my mom took us to some friends down the road that have a 1 month old baby mule that will let you pet her and love on her. She's a little taller than Taylor & Jayde so she was the perfect size for them to get to see and play with. I have some really cute pictures of that too that I'll put them all on a slideshow and post them soon.
So we're just hanging out here until Wednesday and then Courtney & I are heading to Houston to get ready to close on Thursday. We are having a big painting party on the 4th & 5th, this Friday & Saturday, and we will get our stuff delivered next Wed the 9th. I'm excited to get this part going so we can get into our new house and start enjoying being homeowners!!!
*A funny thought...I told Courtney that I realized we don't have a house in FL anymore and we don't own our home in Houston yet so we are pretty much **homeless** at the moment!!!!! hahaha

Awww Carman! So sad to see you go, but so happy for you that you're happy! Gabe has sure grown up big and continues to look exactly like Court! I'm so glad that we became friends and that we can keep up with each other with our blogs! We have our moving dates...July 18th we'll be outta here. We go to Utah for a few weeks then on to Guam, via Tokyo! Sounds exciting, but way stressful too. I'm almost having a little anxiety attack...who would have thought? I thought I was totally up for all of this adventure, but turns out I'm pretty freaked. Anyway, love to hear from you! And miss you too!
Whew........ I'm tired just reading about your week!! =)
