Life at Pappy's Ranch

My dad has a jersey cow named Bossie......
he pulled a calf off of her a while back and has still been milking her ever since. He has been getting anywhere from 3-4 gallons a DAY lately. We have been loving it cause our family drinks close to probably a gallon a day and it tastes soooo much better than store bought milk.
(and is better for you too!!)

So before we left my parents, we went out to watch my dad milk Bossie and took some pictures. He has the coolest set up. He has gotten smart...or his hands got tired.....and now uses an electric pump. It is a pretty cool little process.

Here are some pictures.......
this is Ike....her calf.
my dad has a interesting way of naming animals around his place.
can you tell when 'Ike' was born.....
yep....right after Hurricane Ike in September last year.
