6th grade Country Extravaganza!

Devyn had a Social Studies project called a Country Extravaganza.
They were divided into groups and Devyn was assigned to the country Cuba.
The parents also had to participate. We were in charge of setting up a booth and each parent had to make a dish from their country for everyone to sample. I made a Coconut Chicken that was awesome and also did a Mojito Cake. For our booth there were also black beans, rice, fried plantains, fresh strawberries, avocado salad, and empanada's. It was all yummy!!!



Each student had to make their country flag out of a pillowcase that counted as part of their grade.

Here is a picture I found that we used as idea of what Cuban women wear.

We were also happy that Uncle Tim & Aunt Windy were able to be there.

Brazil was an all boys group and they had fighting scenes....pretty cool!

Yuo look great Devyn- almost a 7th grader- OM goodness
