Ward Christmas Party

Saturday night we had our Ward Christmas party that I was NOT in charge of....thank goodness!! hahaha I feel like I am party-planning OUT! =o) Although I was really tired that day....It was so nice to go and just enjoy the company and food. There was a HUGE turn-out and even seemed crazy at times but it was fun.

We did a traditional song that this ward does every year where there is a Santa, Elf, Baby Doll, Christmas Tree, Rudolf and a Snowman and we sing this song in a round that gets all the tables/people involved. Its pretty funny cuz by the end of the song...the whole room is singing a different verse at the same time so it gets pretty crazy!

The chorus goes:
'Christmas is upon us
Our favorite time of year.
We wish you happy holidays
and peace throughout the year.
When you pass us by,
you will hear us cry:'
Then each person goes thru and does their part twice and then you sing the chorus in between each one building on top of each other as you go along.
It greats pretty wild!
My friend Cheryl's husband Mark was the Santa.
His part went...'My suit is red...I drive a funny sled..HO!!

Mandy was the Elf and her part was
'We make the toys...for all the boys and girls.'

Then our friend Laurie was the baby doll and her part was,
'Mama, Papa, I love you.'
My kids loved her part the best!
She really made her voice sound like a baby doll!
I was the Christmas Tree this year.
The Tree part goes, 'A Christmas tree....is quite a site to see'

My friend Melissa was Rudolf and she sang,
'My nose, my nose....in the dark it glows.'

Courtney was the Snowman this year and his part is,
'I made of snow....and I'm mellttingg.'

It was FUN! =o)

Santa was there for the kiddos and they all had a good time
getting to sit on his lap and tell him their Christmas wishes.
Devyn telling Santa that she wants a 'cell phone, laptop, stop global warming
and have world peace.' hahah!


Jayde was a little shy with Santa.
