Mission Accomplished!!!

All the hard work and training for the past 4 months has finally paid off!!
We both completed our races under our goal times....
Courtney finished his marathon in 4:51 beating is New Years Day marathon time by 14 mins!!
I finished the Half in 2:28 which was just under my goal of 2:30.
It's such a good feeling when you set a goal like this and get to accomplish it!! What a sense of empowerment!
It was perfect running weather and a great run!!

A special thanks again to my mom for being here to drag our kids around while we ran, and to Torry & Lexy for being our personal photographers and chasing us around the course!! We love you all!

Saturday we headed to the Expo to pick up our packets and race numbers.

looking us up.....

this is what happens when your husband registers you both for a race (6 months ago)......
YEP.....notice my name that EVERYONE will be calling me while I'm running!!!!!!
aaaaggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!
I was soooo mad!!
I couldn't believe he did that to me!!
(notice the lady behind me...yeah....she thought it was hilarious along with her husband!!)

here I am telling him I'm gonna kill him and how I thought (and was praying hard) that the lady pulled out the wrong packet.......but noooooo.......it was mine.

paybacks will be heck to pay next time I tell you!!!!

a little fun at the Expo

this is my mother practically rolling on the floor laughing when I showed her what my husband did to me with my race number and my new nickname on it!!!
(she's supposed to be on MY side!!)

RACE DAY.................
getting geared up

Court cooking his pre-race breakfast of oatmeal with protein powder

our race supporters being drug outta bed and loaded in the car at 5:30 in the morning!
poor kiddos!

a sign we got from the corner of a Chevron station.......
and NO we did not steal it!!!

getting ready

about to go our separate ways.....
we had different start lines.

Courtney's start line

about mile 3

mile 3

our race fans!

they loved cheering everybody on!!!

DONE!!!
whew......I was tired!!

after my run with the kiddos

about mile 18

about mile 22 with his ultra-marathon friend Mike.....
thanks Mike for jumping in and pacing Courtney from mile 20-24!!!
It was a HUGE help!!

hanging out....waiting on Daddy to finish

this guy ran the whole marathon dressed like this......
now that's what I call hard core patriotism!!

here comes Courtney........

crossing the finish line

he's gritting his teeth smiling here cause his legs were cramping soooo bad!

waiting on Courtney to get his post-race food/goodies and meet up with us

maybe one day Gabe & Court will run a race together! that would be cool.

Thanks everyone for your love and support through this!!!
We'll let ya know when we our next race will be.......stay tuned.
