We hope you all have had a great New Years so far. We didn't plan to do much for New Years Eve or Day in case a baby decided to arrive and of course...he hasn't! So we're still waiting. We did have a false alarm..I guess you could call it.....yesterday morning. At midnight, I started having contractions 5 mins apart and then after 30 mins they went to 4 mins apart. So I decided that it was better to be safe than sorry so I woke up Courtney about 1:15am and we headed to the hospital. I got all hooked up with monitors and after a quick check still only dilated 1cm. So we sat there for 2 hours with contractions about 3 1/2 mins apart and after another check still no change in dilation. Still 1 cm and my cervix had still not thinned out any. So they sent us home. Now my contractions are sporatic again. I guess now we'll have to wait for my water to break to go in next time because my contractions obviously aren't an indicator that 'its time'. =o(
Anyway, as far as our New Years day, we took the kids to the movies at noon today and watched 'Water Horse'. It was actually a really good movie and the kids really liked it. Then we cooked our good ole' southern traditional New Years Day supper of ham, purple hull peas and cabbage to bring in wealth and good health all year long. =o) It was really yummy!! Then we had a girls movie trip after that to go watch 'National Treasure 2' and that was a great movie!!
We hope you all have a great 2008 this year!
